| This is a small, but packed vintage home, with wall to wall oil paintings! It is original from the 40’s & 50’s. The gentlewoman that lived here was a make- up/hairdresser for most of the Hollywood Studios in the 30’ s to the 60’s. It is a fun sale, but not for the high end antique buyers crowd. If you want to see what it was like then & find lots of goodies-- well, this one is for you. There are some star studio photos, movie memorabilia & ephemera, antique 19th c steamer trunks, old games, trophies, BBQ, picnic items, many vintage mahogany side tables, horse lover’s stuff— figurines, books, & memorabilia, Christmas items, baskets, 6’ oval hooked area rug, 1950’s sink/stove unit, artist supplies, easels, canvases, art books, etc. china, glass, crystal, Western saddle & rack, many horse figurines and Equestrian Trails memorabilia, (old) draperies, Hi-Fi given to owner by Joan Bennet for a wedding present in 1941, yellow seat & formica chrome table with 4 chairs, plant stands, tall standing swivel mirror, Spanish shawls & great antique/vintage linens, pewter, lanterns, ant. & vint. tall, vanity, and table lamps- brass, iron & porcelain, 40’s blonde bedroom set (vanity w/mirror, stool, dresser, 2 side tables, king headboard & deco knobs), perfumes, channel back chairs, lots of costume & some real jewelry, vanity items, compacts, some vintage ladies clothes & shoes, scarves, lingerie, sheets & towels, old toiletries, jewelry boxes, 4 panel Asian wall screen, crewel pictures, 100’s of wonderful oil paintings done by the studio lady that lived here. There is also a 1920’s-30’s bedroom set (dual head & footboard, dresser, rocker, vanity w/mirror & chair- all hand painted trim on each piece), yarns, mirrors, vintage pictures, hats, draperies, maple furniture pieces, records- LPs & 78s, figurines, bric-a- brac, picture frames, decorative items, vint. & retro gifts still in boxes, wing chair, quilted sofa, round antique ball & claw foot table w/3-12” leaves, 20’ s/30’s mahogany dining side board & ‘stepped’ tea cart, hi-fi in gorgeous 40’s-50’ s cabinet, a wonderful kitchen w/lots of fun things with many original labels & tags, 1930’s California style dinette set with darling cabinet - all trimmed in paint stencils, barware, antique Hardman player piano & bench w/rolls, Monterey tile table, wind-up Victorola on cabinet, ottoman, wood/uphol. arm chair, Edward Porter horse charcoal picture, single Kenmore refrigerator, washer & gas dryer, garden, garage (which we have not unearthed yet) & redwood & metal patio furniture. |
