part of Rancho San Pascual
Spanish land grant and is
the remaining 1-1/2 acres of
the Lake Vineyard Ranch. It
was owned by local pioneer
B.D. Wilson (Mt. Wilson)
who was one of the
founders of Pasadena. The
house was designed by
Roland E. Coate.  Annie
Wilson, daughter of ‘Don
Benito’, was the first owner
‘Holmwood’ house, having
bought the land from
George S. Patton, father of
WWII U.S. Army General
George S. Patton, Jr. The
present family has been in
the house for 55 years and
are descendants of one of
the founders/builders of
South Pasadena, Clyde
Church… including the
Rialto theatre block.
